Jamaica - Where We Stayed

The resort where we stayed for 7 glorious nights was called Couples Swept Away in Negril. It is an all inclusive resort, meaning all the food, drink and many of the activities were all included. Our room was an Atrium Suite, meaning we were not beach-front, but rather nestled into the grounds' beautiful gardens, with a large patio and our own hammock! Paradise! I have about a billion favorite pictures, so I'm really going to try to narrow them down for you.

By Day:

Our favorite view - floating on rafts just off the beach. The water was crystal clear, calm, and the perfect temperature.

Our room - you can get a feel for the "open air concept" - most of the windows were actually just screens and no glass... it was so relaxing to listen to the rain, frogs and/or insects at night.

We named our hammock "Albert" since (we are dorks) whoever came up with the idea of a hammock was a complete GENIUS!

Cute birds in the gardens.

Swimming at the caves from the catamaran!

Learned to weave a coconut palm frond hat!

Hibiscus bloom...

Across the street was a HUGE sports complex with about 8 tennis courts, a lap pool, air conditioned squash and racquetball courts, gym, spa, salon, table tennis, and wellness bar with yummy smoothies! You could seriously stay here for a month or longer and still not get to do everything! Private tennis lessons? Included. Yoga class? Yep. Follow your professional massage with a couples massage class and take the techniques home. Swim some laps and make up for the extra lobster tail you ate at dinner last night. Want to learn to SCUBA? Do it. Seriously - this place is amazing.

Shopping down the beach (off resort).

And By Night:

Grab two chairs and watch the sun set over the ocean.

Beautiful sunsets you'll never forget...

Horseback rides at dusk.

Enjoying the drinks and the friendly staff... no, I didn't really drink that!Enjoying a Jamaican beer (and one of Brian's all time favorites) - Authentic Red Stripe!

Friday night's "Shipwreck Beach Party" entertainment.

Open-air dining at Thai restaurant, Lemongrass.
