Our Soon-to-Be Addition

Our little family is growing! With the impending addition of another bundle of lovin', lickin', cuddlin', snugglin' I thought it was appropriate to reveal the identity of our soon-to-be adopted furball. Without further to-do, I present...
Pumpkin/Sundae/Lexi/Heidi/Peanut (there was much debate as to her name).

She is such a little sweetheart! She's a mix between a blue heeler and something else, possibly dachshund. Her foster mother found her a few days before Ike hit. Pumpkin was walking down a road alongside her mother and brother (who has already been adopted). When the foster parent tried to catch her, she ran and ran until she fell into a mudhole. Foster daddy was able to get her out and bring her around, she's now more accepting of human interaction but still a little jumpy.

Evidently, she's had two other adoption attempts. The first application was denied and the second person brought her back to the foster home because she wanted "instant gratification" with Pumpkin. Needless to say, she didn't want to invest the time in getting Pumpkin comfortable in her new home. I hope we'll be able to give this little girl a better shot at a long and happy life!
